Welcome to the new Registrar: Lori Peppler-Beechey
We are pleased to announce the hiring of Lori Peppler-Beechey as the new Registrar of the Nova Scotia College of Respiratory Therapists (NSCRT).
Lori Peppler Beechey, a highly experienced leader in academic administration and healthcare regulation, has been selected as the new NSCRT Registrar effective August 11, 2025. Lori brings expertise from her roles at the Michener Institute and the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, along with deep involvement in regulation and accreditation.
As we welcome Lori to the NSCRT, we’d like to extend tremendous gratitude to Tara Boudreau who is exiting the role of Registrar. Over the last 9 years, Tara has elevated the direction and operations of the College significantly. She has participated on the Exectuve of the National Alliance of Respirtary Therapy Regulatory Bodies which developed the most recent National Competency Framework for Respiratory Therapists in Canada. As the NSCRT transitions to the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) this Fall, Tara has laid the groundwork for this transformation in collaboration with government and other provincial legislators. Over the last number of years, Tara was instrumental in guiding the College through COVID 19, Health Human Resource challenges that required adjustment in licensing practices and aligning with new government requirements. We wish her well as she focuses on her clinical role in Hyperbaric Medicine at the QEII.
Tara will assist Lori in transitioning into her role over the next several weeks and will end her time with the NSCRT at the end of August.
Please join us in welcoming Lori Peppler Beechey to the NSCRT. We look forward to her leadership and the valuable contributions she will bring to our organization and the profession at large.
