NSCRT Welcomes new Deputy Registrar
WECOME TO THE NEW DEPUTY REGISTRAR - DEBBIE HICKS
The NSCRT is pleased to introduce Debbie Hicks, who has recently joined the NSCRT as the new Deputy Registrar.
Debbie is a Respiratory Therapist in the Hyperbaric Medicine Unit (HMU) where she provides care for patients needing hyperbaric oxygen therapy - especially to those with radiation damage post cancer treatment. Prior to transferring to the HMU, she was an RRT at the QEII Health Sciences Centre for over 20 years, with a preference for critical and emergent care. Debbie was a member of the Practice Council at the QEII and is dedicated to supporting Respiratory Therapists in their delivery of the high quality, safe and ethical care. Debbie is also a member of the CSRT (Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists) and CUHMA (Canadian Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Association).
As Deputy Registrar, Debbie will be primarily focused on professional practice and related inquiries. She will be communicating with respiratory therapy employers and RRTs across the province in all areas of practice, ensuring that the College is in touch with the services being provided. Debbie will also be supporting the NSCRT Professional Practice Committee and, when required, assisting the Registrar with the operations of the College.
Debbie can be reached via email at email@example.com.
