Science (Respiratory Therapy) from Charles
Stuart University in association with
The Michener Institute.
Entry requirements are a 3-year diploma
in Respiratory Therapy and 3 years work

Advanced Diploma: COPD Educator
Become a COPD Educator and help patients
to live better, longer lives by teaching
them how to manage their disease.
STUDENTS WILL LEARN
- clinical, medical and rehabilitation
science of the COPD patient
- Patient education and communication
skills
- epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk
factors and relationship among the
diseases that comprise COPD
- to assist patients in controlling
symptoms, anxiety and exacerbations and
help them get on with living a fuller
life
PROGRAM FORMAT
The COPD Educator Certificate Program can be
completed in as little as six months. It is
offered through distance education supported
by four days of hands-on workshops which
integrate theory with practice. Workshops
are offered periodically at locations across
the country. When you graduate you will
receive The Michener Institute's Certificate
of Achievement
